Long ago, there was a gathering of immortal beings. They stood in council before a creature, wrapped in divine chains but bound by His own grief. For three centuries He had waged a brutal war against mankind, this life giver turned death dealer. And the council, this faceless gathering of cloaked ones, cast the fallen one into the Void, and He was banished from the world…

…but in the darkness, bathed in the agonizing ripples of the nether, a vicious voice resounded all about Him, resonating within His very core. It was the cruel laughter of death, and by the Will of Destruction He was reborn, neither truly alive nor truly dead; a shadow of His former self. Consumed by His hatred, this wraith of a god returned to the world of mortals and swore vengeance against His betrayers. Those who would serve Him would bear His curse, and those who defy Him would bear His wrath.

Kerahl is known throughout the ages as The Dark Lord, the Lord of Shadows. It is for this reason that His followers have come to be known as dark ones. The tale of the dark ones goes beyond recorded history, to a time when chaos reigned supreme. It is a forgotten age; an era that is never mentioned, not merely for lack of knowledge, but truly for fear of things to come, as Kerahl is not like any god. No, He is the shadow of a god, a wraith that haunts our world. He once defied death, but only in search of vengeance for the great betrayal set upon Him. He is the forbidden god. Tales have been woven for all ages of the epic struggle between gods and their enemies, but never are spoken the tales of Kerahl, for this is a truth that may unravel the fate of The Gods themselves. And thus, we have become the dark ones. We are the keepers of this forbidden truth, the servants of God, the children of the Father, and the heralds of His Wrath. Burned and bathed in fire, we do not fear death, for to it we owe no debt.
